Aging and Longevity

Essentially aging is caused by three processes.

  1. Free Radicals  which damage every cell of our bodies by a process of Oxidation (stealing electrons which are the food of life), a form of rusting.

  2. Loss of Telomeres, essential for proper maintenace of chromosomes, and play a major role in aging and cancer.

  3. Loss of Pineal function and Melatonin (the anti-aging hormone)

Oxidation can be significantly slowed down by Antioxidants which should form a part of our daily diet.  Modern foods do not contain enough Vitamins, Minerals, and Antioxidants to ensure that we live a healthy life beyond the average for society which today is 82 years of age.  With recommended supplementation we should be able to live to the maximum age of 120 years limited by our Telomeres.

It is strongly recommended that everyone should maintain a personal anti-aging program consisting of daily supplementation with the World's most powerful antioxidant and multiple Vitamins and Minerals.

BIOTECH: ON CREATIVITY Altered genes let roundworms wiggle longer ("Some of the genes function as antioxidants -- they stop the damage done to worm cells by free radicals." Free radicals are chemical byproducts created when cells process oxygen. Over time they damage DNA and other critical molecules in a cell). at: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2004/03/22/BUG4E5OBTG1.DTL
