Vacuum-Filtering Flasks

For Glass Containers 1 gallon

Filter flasks are used to speed up filtration. The side tube allows air to be released or can be connected to a hand pump or to a vacuum aspirator to a water tap (faucet). The flowing water creates a slight vacuum in the filtering bottle which pulls the liquid through faster than gravity alone. We find that it works well in our lab without any vacuum pump.

This 1000ml (1 litre) filter flask special includes the polypropylene plastic flask, 1 litre plastic Buchner funnel, rubber stopper and pack of 100 medium speed, 110mm diameter, qualitative filter papers.  Ceramic funnel and glass flask are available in place of unbreakable plastic. Price for complete system $140 US

Laboratory Filtration Systems

Lab System
Designed for laboratories that test a few samples per day. The simple combination of a hand vacuum pump and a Sterifil system can be bench-operated or used as a portable system.

Gravity Water Filter Urn

Gravity Water Filter Urn

These are outstanding, affordable, drinking water filter systems which serve also as EMERGENCY WATER FILTERS . This water filter may be stored un-used in homes, businesses, automobiles, etc. indefinitely.
It is always ready for use!

Housings are manufactured from food grade, high density blue polypropylene plastic. The housings are light weight and nearly indestructible. They can accommodate one  or two ceramic filter candles. The upper chamber is filled with water which then gravity feeds through the Doulton ceramic(s) into the lower chamber. An easy to turn 90 degree on-off spigot is used as the outflow tap.

Test Tubes

A glass test tube is probably the most common of lab supplies. Ours are all made from borosilicate glass (pyrex) for strength & heat resistance.

  • 6, 8 & 10x75mm are small sample tubes for oils, powders, etc.
  • 18x150mm is considered the standard lab test tube
  • 25x150/200mm for cigars or spices
  • the suffix R means the tube has a rim
