Silver Impregnated Anti-Microbial Plastic Tubing

Tubing comes in 100"coils with 8 possible internal diameters from 1/8 to 5/8 inches

Applications:  Biotech, pharmaceutical, water-dispensing systems, food, beer and beverage processing, water purification

Antimicrobial (protected) flexible polyethylene tubing for use with barb fittings inhibits microbial colonization on the interior tubing walls by bacteria, mildew, mold and fungi while preventing formation of bio-film and polymer slimes.

Our antimicrobially protected products are designed to protect our tubing and fittings from colonization by harmful bacteria, mold, mildew and fungi which can cause odors and lead to product deterioration.

Our antimicrobial protected products are not designed or built to protect the consumer by acting on or adding to the fluid that flows through them.  For this application see our domestic and industrial silver, copper, zinc and gold water ionizers at http://www.biophysica.com/colloidal_generator.html

Features:

  • Built in protection against microbial colonization:
  • Blue color to indicate antimicrobial properties
  • Can reduce maintenance, prolong longevity and ensure safety in systems susceptible to bio-film formation
  • Removes necessity of flushing system with chlorine or bleach.

Characteristics: Inner coating releases silver ions gradually, protecting the inner surface of the tubing where microorganism growth is likely. The silver ions will not contaminate the fluid, and therefore will not prevent microorganism growth in the fluid itself. The silver coating remains effective over time and is not temperature sensitive. Tubing is clear and has excellent chemical compatibility.

Fittings (antimicrobial):

Antimicrobially Silver Protected Fittings made from Natural Nylon, Natural   polypropylene, Natural Kynar, and High Density Polyethylene are produced with compounds   that are listed with the NSF International Standards 51 & 61 and are in compliance with the   requirements of the US Federal Food, Drug and cosmetics Act (FDA) 21 CFR section 177.1520   (polypropylene and polyethylene) 177.2510 (Natural Kynar) 177.1500 (Natural Nylon).  Fittings are designed to offer protection against microbial and bio-film buildup on the interior and exterior surfaces of the fitting.
