Ionizers disinfect water by releasing into the water electrically charged trace amounts of atoms of biocompatible minerals which act as catalysts to inactivate the subtle biochemistry of bacteria and viruses. Consequently precious metal ionizers are now replacing chlorine in drinking water, bottling plants, aquariums, fish farms, swimming pools and hot tubs. In contrast to oxidizers like chlorine, bromine, ozone, which are known carcinogenic agents and cause lung damage when inhaled, the precious metal atoms, ions and nanoparticles act as catalysts and do not lose their electrical charge (Zeta Potential) which has a residual potency lasting for many months.
The advantages of Ionization purifiers include the ability of the user to electrically control and balance the amount of ions going into the water, no filters or chemicals to add, ease of installation and portability, small amount of electricity (less than a 60 watt lamp). Our ionization units vary in price, depending on the volume, from $950 for a domestic system to $100,000 or more for a municipality.
The Biophysica Water Ionization and water purification system consists of a state-of-the-art high frequency digital switching electronic controller unit with pair of electrodes composed of any pure metal which can be silver, copper, zinc, magnesium or gold or can be any pure alloy of copper and silver. 99.99% purity Silver electrodes are used for drinking water while copper is commonly used to kill algae and legionella to prevent legionnaire’s disease. Other metal electrodes such as Zinc and Magnesium can be ionized to add essential minerals to water depleted by Reverse Osmosis.
Our Ionizers can effectively control algae growth and kill many parasites, bacteria and viruses for safe drinking water or for chlorine-free swimming pool water.
Please note that salt water is not antimicrobial. Salt water pool systems use an electronic ionizer just like our copper systems and merely convert Sodium Chloride into Chlorine, Hypochlorite and Hypochlorous Acid which are all toxic. Salt chlorine systems require the addition of stabilizer (cyanuric acid) and salt which will damage cement and create rust on screws, fittings and panels. When emptied, the salt and chlorine are harmful to the environment whereas copper and silver in trace amounts are essential biocompatible minerals. Reverse Osmosis also damages the environment by adding salt which gravitates into ground water and is now banned in many states.
